This morning, youngest comes down to get ready for school.
“Mum, I don’t want to go to school today. I feel like I’m going to vomit at school.”
“Ok mate. Are you feeling sick?”
“Yes.”
“Maybe you’re hungry. Have a little toast and see how you feel.”
Toast is prepared. Tiny bite is taken.
“No my body doesn’t want it.” Tiny bite is spat back out.
I do the normal mum thing – check for temperature, look at his eyes and check his colour. All good. He certainly doesn’t look sick.
Then I tune in and ask myself the question “Is he meant to stay home today?” “Yes” is the response I get.
Aiden goes to lay down.
At 9:06 am he calls out, “Mum I’m going to vomit. “
And he did just that.
So glad I listened to him and my own intuition rather than feeling obligated to send him to school. He didn’t look sick and sometimes he can feel sick when he is hungry. And sometimes he likes to stay home just because.
He called it. If he had been at school he would have vomited all over his classroom’s carpet.
I am so grateful for my journey into BodyMastery and creating a loving relationship with my own body, because it has given me the wisdom to teach my kids how to love and listen to their own bodies. And they are really good at listening to their Soul-Truth (intuition).
Just yesterday my eldest asked for a packet of chips. I asked him to check-in with his Body to see if it’s his Truth. So he did and ended up choosing a plum because his body really didn’t want the chips.
Our bodies know what they need, all we have to do is take the time to ask and listen.
Wishing you a beautiful day.
