Sunday family bike ride today.
A beautiful autumn day. Sun was shining with blue skies. Reaching our destination, sitting high on a hill overlooking the ocean. Such natural beauty!
I watched my husband and youngest talking with each other in the middle of a grassed field. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but I had an idea based upon hand gestures. They were pointing out landmarks.
I loved witnessing this interaction. Father and Son hanging out in the moment. It was so pure and real.
“What a great photo opportunity.” I thought as I rummaged for hubby’s phone.
I had left mine at home. Deliberately. I needed a break from it.
And so had he. Thankfully. I sat up and watched them.
I chose in that moment to create a camera-less memory in my heart. I chose to be completely present and experience the moment.
I saw the grass dancing in the wind. I could hear the wind whooshing through field. I felt the breeze hitting my skin. I could hear the birds and the waves. And I watched them talk. I was completely present.
I loved that I didn’t have a phone to come between me and these two Human’s chatting in the middle of the field overlooking the ocean.
I had captured the image forever in my heart. Uninterrupted. Filled with Love and the realness of Life.
There will be plenty of opportunities for photos another day.
