My feet. Size 9 1/2 to 10. Yep. This is them. My big feet that don’t match my height (I joke that I should have been 6 foot based upon my shoe size).
I used to hate my feet. I hated that they were wide and couldn’t fit into all those shoes I loved. I hated the way they looked and how long my toes were. Ugly big fat long toes.
They weren’t normal compared to other people’s feet. As I write this sentence, I don’t even know why I thought they weren’t normal.
What is normal anyway?
Seems crazy to compare my body parts to another.
We are all different. Comparing and judging ourselves based upon what others look like (or what we think we should look like based upon media images) blocks our own authenticity and Soul-Truth from expressing itself through our own Body.
I for one am done with comparing my body to others.
I’m choosing to love my Body. And my feet.
I LOVE them. They are freaking awesome. I am so grateful for them.
Tonight I spent time giving my feet a massage and thanking them for all they do for me.
My big long toes can pick things up off the floor. My feet can run me 6kms. Swim me 1km. Walk me up and down stairs. Walk me around the kitchen as I prepare meals for my family.
They walk me to pick my youngest up from school. They walk me around the shopping centre. They dance and ride bikes. They help me drive the car. And walk me into the ocean so I can play in the waves with my boys.
Yes. My feet deserve to be loved, nourished and treated with compassion. No more hating on my feet.
I choose Self-Love.
How do your give your feet some love?
